Review: Holding Aces (5 STARS) by Nikki Groom Blog Tour

Title: Holding Aces (The Kingdom #1)

Author: Nikki Groom

Release Date: May 29th 2014

Genre: Adult contemporary romance

They say that time heals all wounds.

But mine are set in so deeply, they’ve taken on a life of their own, lurking in the shadows at every turn and haunting my thoughts.

The girl I once was has been replaced by a stranger.

I don’t even know who I am anymore.

I run.

And I hide.

Pretending to be someone I’m not…

Until I meet Denham King.

My burst of color in an otherwise grey world.

And for the first time in my life, I find myself running towards someone instead of running away.

But fate can be cruel,

and I can’t escape my past.

Can I?

**Holding Aces is part one of a two part Adult Contemporary Romance series that contains mature sexual content and language and is not intended for readers under the age of 18.**

After reading Holding Aces, I am freaking out waiting for the next Kingdom novel.  I know you will be as much in anticipation as I am awaiting another of of Nikki Groom’s works.  I truly hope that it comes out soon.

Holding Aces contains a young woman whom has spent much of her adult life being abused by one specific man.  When she runs from him, she finds herself in another mess.  After leaving yet another bad situation, Arianna goes to Las Vegas where she finds one extremely delicious Denham King.  He is the yen to her yan.  Arianne must overcome her past before she can move on with Denham.  Will she be able to complete this task?

I don’t want to give too many details to the story line, but I will say you will definitely leave the book when finished with a definite book hangover. I am craving to read more of Denham and Ari’s story.

Nikki Groom writes a compelling story of not just another abused woman, but a survivor.  Ari not only overcome, she succeed at not allowing abuse to keep her down.  Ari had every reason to turn away from another relationship, but she choose to fight her demons.   One issue that I learned working with domestic abuse victims is that they are very skittish when it comes to men’s tempers.  Denham was a man who was territorial, but he had ultimate control over his anger.  He learned that was what Ari needed, and that is what he would give her.

I can also tell you that there is definitely no lull points in the story.  There is passion, romance, with even some action thrown in.  Makes for a very enthralling story.  All elements in one novel.

Lets drum up some support for Nikki Groom, and her newest title, Holding Aces.

Review: Ransom (Holding Ransom #1) (4.5 STARS) by Denise Mathew

Book Title: Ransom (Holding Ransom #1)

Author: Denise Mathew

Genre: New Adult

Hosted by:Book Enthusiast Promotions

The first book in a New Adult series called Holding Ransom.

One bad decision…a tragedy that can never be undone…and upon the ruins of devastation love grows…

No one knows as well as Lexie Adams how your whole world can change in a fraction of a second, she’s lived with that reality ever since a horrible event stole her future. But worse than what happened after, is living with the concept that she’s to blame for it all.

From as far back as Ransom Sanders can remember, his days have been an endless string of venues, hotel rooms, cheap diner food, and nothing to call his own. He knows he’s good for two things, pleasing everyone but himself and taking care of his younger brother Gabriel, a celebrity faith healer and medium.

When fate pushes Lexie and Ransom’s paths together they develop a relationship based on mutual necessity, where they use each other to get what they need.Yet what begins as a Pandora’s box of secrets and ulterior motives, soon becomes something so much more than either Ransom or Lexie thought they could have. A chance for something that is uniquely their own, a safe place to fall where their broken spirits can be healed, and where love isn’t just a word it’s a reality.

I absolutely loved Ransom.  It is a story of love and sacrifice.

In a moment of Lexie desiring to be a teenager tragedy occurs, and Lexie is left with guilt and emptiness.  When she hears that Gabriel, a healer, is coming to a venue close to her, she and her best friend leave to go and see him.  But their plans are changed when an accident happens, and Lexie attempts to see Gabriel in another way.  She initially meets Ransom, Gabriel’s brother, when he rescues her from two attackers.  Later, she runs into him at the hospital where he is fleeing.

Lexie and Ransom start a new adventure together at a family cabin.  She is helping to protect Ransom.  Sparks ignite, and those two are extremely combustible together.  How will Ransom find himself out of his current mess?

I loved the connection between Lexie and Ransom.  The chemistry was felt through the words.  In addition, the character definition in each character was exceedingly well written.    Ransom was the protector to his brother Gabriel.  When he met Lexie, he now became the protected.  That was a highlight of the story.  I noticed as I was reading that each character had their niche in the story.  It made the story more rich.

I am so looking forward to the story continuing.  I will let you know when we find out more about it.  I just wanted to cry at the conclusion of Ransom.  Partly because of the story, but also because I was craving more.  That is how great the book is.

I would highly suggest taking a chance on the Holding Ransom Series.

Review: non fric tion by Morgan Parker

Book Title: non fric tion (3.5 STARS)

Author: Morgan Parker

Genre: Romance

Hosted by:Book Enthusiast Promotions

After 12 years, 4 months and 1 and 1/2 weeks of marriage, his wife packs up and leaves with their daughter. So he writes an Indie novel. And it becomes a bestseller. Well, sort of.

His fame brings him the lifestyle of a rockstar, and he has the fan mail (i.e. female undergarments, probably clean) to prove it.

But seeing his fame, his wife suddenly believes in marriage counseling. Their homework: to create something beautiful for each other.

So he writes Our Story, his literary secret-weapon that will win his wife back. But in the process he discovers that true love is more than just ticking the right boxes on a checklist, it starts with…..well…..}i{

After reading non fric tion, I had to contemplate on how I felt about the story.   If you are looking for a typical contemporary romance with the perfect HEA, than this is not the book for you.  But if you look for a story that may have an alternate ending to what you consider HEA, than you may just enjoy Morgan Parker’s novel.

One day the wife leaves.  She just takes the child, refuses to say to her husband where she is going, and walks out the door.  My initial thoughts were what a huge BITCH!!!!  The wife was snarky, and her personality was just crass.  This leaves her husband feeling quite alone.

So the husband starts a venture to self-publish, and writes his first book.  Now he is receiving fan mail, and is excited for his first check.  But when he sees the check, he is extremely disappointed.  Who knew that being an indie author was so difficult?

After hearing of his success, his wife returns and requests marriage counseling.  Both partners are requested to take pictures and write a story of their marriage.  That is when the husband starts Our Story.  His wife on the other hand is flippant about the assignment, and I really wanted to just scream at her for how she treated him.

Part of the story is hard to get through.  I just wanted at times to gag the wife, and I do not promote violence.  The part of the story that I enjoyed was the learning process the husband took while writing Our Story.  Our Story was a journey for the husband.  It was what finally made him a man.

I don’t want to give any details away about certain events of the story, but I will tell you that the process that the wife and husband had to go through really made me think.  It also put what defines love and happiness into perspective.

Author Information:

Morgan Parker is the pen name for a shy and introverted banker. He currently divides his time between Toronto, Canada and his imagination. When he isn’t writing or working with clients or relaxing at Balzac’s with a medium non-fat cappuccino, Morgan Parker enjoys spending time with his family. And sleeping, preferably on a bed (the left side) but depending on the day, he can pretty much curl up anywhere. No, he is not currently accepting applications for cuddling partners.

Review: The Morning After (4.5 STARS) by Adriane Leigh Blog Tour + Giveaway

Title: The Morning After (Morning #1)

Author: Adriane Leigh

Release Date: May 19, 2014

Genre: Contemporary Romance

From Adriane Leigh, comes a passionately evocative story about wanting what’s forbidden, and giving in to desire so sharp and sweet it threatens to consume…

On impulse, Georgia Montgomery buys a beach house on the North Carolina coast looking for a summer of sun, sand, margaritas and best friends. A charming, seductive, and sexy-as-sin visitor isn’t what she bargained for.

Georgia is instantly drawn to Tristan Howell, the pleasure-seeking playboy with an easy smile and eyes the deepest shade of green she’s ever seen. She tries to ignore the desire that burns between them, but just like an addiction-one look, one touch, one taste is never enough. Tristan shows her pleasure like she’s never known, and over the course of the summer she must decide if she can let go of the world she’s always known to embrace the future she isn’t even sure she has with the irresistible ladies man who makes it his goal to free her body and soul.

For mature audiences.

The Morning After is a double sword story.  On one side it is tragic, and the other side is about rebirth of a new life.  It is learning about what is believed to help us is actually harming and keeping us stuck in the past.

Georgie buys a beach house, and enlists her friends to stay the summer and help fix it up. When her friend Drew arrives she brings her boyfriend, Gavin, and his best friend Tristan.  Tristan and Georgia are attracted to each other, but there is a catch: Tristan is a player, and Georgia has a boyfriend in Washington D.C.   Tristan sets out to show Georgia that they are a good fit with each other.  Georgia, I believe, wants to trust him, but she is holding onto Kyle like a security blanket.  Kyle has been with her since her teens, and he is more comfort to her than anything.  He also represents a part of her life, that she really needs to expunge in order to make a future better for herself.

The story definitely has its drama.  I wanted at times to dork slap Tristan for his player ways.  If he were to stop and really see who Georgia is and what Kyle represented, than hopefully he would be quite a reform guy.  The part I saw Georgia had in it was that she needed to be open with Tristan.  She needed to rip the bandaid open, and let him see the open wound.

I did love the story.  In fact, I read the second book immediately after this one.  Just to give a shout out for the second book, the title is, Light in the Morning.  It is the sequel to Tristan and Georgia’s story.  To be honest, that story was a 5 star story for me.  As a series, I rate the series a 5 STAR.  Separately,  The Morning After is 4.5 Stars, and the Light in the Morning is 5 STARS.

I have always loved Adriane Leigh’s writing.  She writes raw, and exposed novels.  Some of her other books, I have read several times.  The Morning After, and Light in the Morning are a series that I will read over and over.

Review: Laurie’s Time (5 STARS) by Maryann Jordan Blog Tour

One look was all it took and Rob knew that Laurie was the one for him, but he was going to have to work to convince her that he was a changed man. One that was worthy of her.

A fire at the elementary school brought them together, but illness and deceit threatened to tear them apart.

Will Laurie be able to forgive Rob’s deceit in order to have a future with him?

Early Reviews:

*****Just when I thought I couldn’t love a book more than Emma’s Home (1st book in this series) I was wrong. I fell in love with this story even more. Wow, who wouldn’t love a HOT fireman and the steamy sex scenes. Rob and Laurie are both strong characters that you would want to be friends with if Fairfield was a really existed. I will be waiting for the next installment of The Fairfield Series.

***** I found myself so drawn to the characters that I can not put the book down. Easy and addicting book about love, romance and sex. Speaking of romance…it is like Maryann knows what women are looking for in a man and brings it to life. You see how people can change because they want to be a better person for someone who is meant to be. Hurry up and read this book you will not be disappointed!

*****This is the second book in the Fairfield series. I love the series and the author Maryann Jordan is amazing. Talk about HOT HOT HOT. I found myself taken in by the characters and feel like I know the people.

For a second time, Maryann Jordan knocked it out of the ballpark when she wrote Laurie’s Time.  Laurie’s Time is the second book in The Fairfield Series.  It is a stand alone book, and you do not need to read the first book to understand this book.

Have  you ever tried clicking a cigarette lighter only to have it take a few flicks to get the flame going.  Well, in Laurie’s Time, the flame ignites immediately between Laurie and fire fighter Rob.  But Rob is a well known player, and Laurie wants nothing to do with his playboy ways.  Can a leopard change its spots?  That is the question of the day in the novel.

While Rob and Laurie are getting closer sad events occur, and Rob will stop at nothing to protect what is his.  That includes keeping secrets.  Will this finally be Laurie’s time of happiness, or will events lead up to more tragedy?  Check it out in Laurie’s Time.

What is my favorite aspect of Laurie’s Time?  It is hard to define that, but I can say that I enjoyed having a HEA where you definitely don’t expect the outcome.  I also enjoyed the relationship between Laurie and her aunt.  In fact as soon as I finished reading Laurie’s Time, I purchased Emma’s House.  That book I am reading right now, and I enjoy it very much.

And what is great in the story is how the meaning shows you what truly makes up a family, and also what is important in life; family, friendship, love.

I highly suggest reading Laurie’s Time.  Next in the series will be Carol’s story.  I am totally excited for the book to be released.  I will try to keep up on what is happening with the outcome of that book.

Review: Lemonade Revealed by Will Chluho Blog Tour

Lemonade Revealed

About Lemonade Revealed (3.5 STARS)

• Leather-finishing in Yellow: 256 pages
• Publisher: Twiitaga Pte LTD (June, 2014)

FICTION: A boy on a voyage to find his true father regained consciousness on an unknown island to the curious stares of three old men: a warrior, a trader, and a priest. The lost boy would later discover through a mysterious man–a skinhead with an eye tattoo on his neck–that one among the trio could be the father he’d been looking for….

NONFICTION: This “little yellow book” is a good place to reclaim such good old-fashioned gems as “faith” and “hope” under the demythologized light of human reason. It is a phenomenological examination on the possibility and probability of a divine existent vis-à-vis a real world of human frailties and frictions.Lemonade Revealed is a timely discourse in a timeless (and engaging) story.

Lemonade Revealed, written by Will Chluho, is a story of a new life. hope, and gaining new identity.  It is a story of overcoming problems, as well as learning to work together.

Lemonade Revealed starts out with a particular man leading a group of people from boats to an island.  They have left their homeland for a new chance of safety and freedom.  A land that had chained them to regression instead of progression.  Upon landing at this island, the man realizes that he have the daunting task to lead these people to a better life.  They depend upon him, and he cannot let them down now.

Time passes and the land and people are prospering, but there is a problem with a neighboring island.  Turmoil is occurring over the prosperity of sugar in their land.  The king must make a decision if he will visit the neighboring island to meet with their Queen.  He leaves a will with his sugar farmer.  The only rule is that the letter is to be opened if there is known reason that the King has been killed.

Meanwhile, a young boy finds himself washed up on the island.  He has no recollection of his identity, or where he was prior to finding himself on the island.  He is being cared upon by Father Renee as well as the warrior.  But he desires to seek his identity.

Can this young man figure out who he is?  Who will ultimately show him guidance?

What I loved about this story is that all of the main characters have a mission to accomplish , and life lessons to learn.  This included everyone from the warrior, the boy, to the sugar farmer.  I loved how a dilemma was handled, and it was quite fascinating to see how people reacting in times of adversity.

Now, I know I write about romances quite a bit on my blog, and Lemonade Revealed isn’t that type of genre.  What I will tell you what made me decide to place it on my blog, was how potent the message was throughout the story.  If we all received a glimpse of hope in our life like the characters did in Lemonade Revealed I think this world would be a better place.

Review: The Refrain (4.5 STARS) by Ashley Pullo Blog Tour

Their paths have crossed, setting the refrain in motion.

Ever since flannel and Doc Martens were considered edgy fashion, Canadian cousins Natalie and Chloe have dreamt of a life in New York City. But now that they’ve finally scored a Manhattan zip code, their teenaged fantasies are overshadowed by an adult reality. With Natalie struggling to accept a long-distance relationship—and her constant battle with loneliness, her survival depends on Zach’s safe return. And with Chloe’s endless need to find balance and purpose—and her embarrassing secret holding her back, can Adam Ford be the one to understand her completely?

Change is inevitable and fate is insisting. And when panic follows crisis and love is questioned, stories can change in unexpected ways. The narrative becomes the verse, the part to the whole—the story within the story.

The Refrain is the third book in The Bridge series.  It follows The Ballad, and Intermission.  If you haven’t read either book, I suggest you start with those two first.

To give you a summary of how the books are written, I will give you a summary for each book.  That way you understand what is happening up to The Refrain.

In The Ballad, that is Chloe and Adam’s story.  How it is written is quite unique.  The story is written backwards in history.  It starts with an ending, and goes forward to their first meeting.  We get a brief introduction to Nat, Chloe’s cousin.

In Intermission, those are three short novellas in one book.  We have a story for Natalie.  A story is written for Adam, and there is a short story for Chloe.  These are the years before lives were interconnected.  We get a glimpse into how Adam, Chloe, and Nat ran into each other at times.

During The Refrain, we see how Natalie’s full story.  Her heartbreak, and the mending of her broken soul.  We also get to witness the ups and down of Chloe and Adam’s relationship.  We gain a greater understanding of Chloe’s panic disorder, and how she was effected by depression after having her last baby.  Adam worked quite a bit, and Chloe was alone with her babies at home.  She was lonely for her husband, and sought help to find companionship in being a mother to two children.

I must admit each novel took me a while to get used to, but in the end I loved how she wrote it.  I never saw an author follow a format like that before.    It is almost like the novels are written in 3 (The Ballad), 1 (Intermission), 2 (The Refrain).   And if you see how music is often written, different beats are often used to write out a song’s story.

As far as characters, I loved them all, but my favorite was probably Natalie’s story.  Natalie was a no nonsense girl, but she had tragedy written all over her.  Her and Claire were two peas in a pod, and I loved how well they related with each other.  Even as cousins there were best friends, and sister like.

Natalie and Chloe’s journey has been fascinating.  I have enjoyed reading about their lives.  I suggest readers try out The Bridge Series.

Slamming her hand against the keys to the piano, Chloe shouts, “Who is she?”
“The client is a forty-seven year old man.”
“Not the client, who are you fucking?” Chloe demands, her voice deep and raw.
Adam takes two steps closer, glaring down at Chloe’s pitiful face. “I’m not fucking anyone. Not even my wife,” he snarls. It’s the answer Chloe needs to hear, but not the one she wants.
She moves a step closer and pokes his chest. “Then explain this to me.”
“Explain what?”
“This—this tension. Why don’t I trust you? Why am I so angry—where the fuck have you been?” Chloe’s voice is dry and emotional, the words stinging her throat and falling from her mouth like hot embers. She punches his arm, hits his chest, and slaps at his smug expression.
Adam grabs her arms, his fingers digging into her flesh, but Chloe fights him. “Stop it,” he says. Chloe continues to wave her arms, desperately trying to break herself free. Adam tightens his grip and twists her arm behind her back, controlling her…controlling her behavior. “I have a career. Do you understand that? I’m working, I’m being a provider, I’m being a dad—doing the right thing.”
With as much contempt as she can gather, she shouts, “The right thing? The right thing—your life is just one blob of obligation now? Fuck you, Adam. Always trying to be perfect—always doing the right thing. We wouldn’t want anyone to know what you really are!”
“What does that mean?” Adam eases his grip, upset by her threat.
“You’re a wall.” Chloe yanks her arms free and shoves Adam’s chest. “A fucking brick wall—no emotion and no attachment to anything that doesn’t fit your definition of right or wrong. I’m sick of it!” Chloe’s voice is shaky and inaudible, tears suddenly drowning her words.
“Really?” He smirks. “You need me. You need me to be your wall—you need an excuse to be destructive. But then when you need that brick wall again, who’s supposed to build it?”
Chloe grits her teeth and holds her breath, rage setting in. “You’re a fucking asshole. God, you’re so arrogant—fuck you.” Chloe shoves past Adam, running straight to the front door. She hesitates momentarily to study her bare feet but then impulsively decides to run out into the summer rain. She wants to run away, she wants to feel that sense of purpose again. Adam follows behind her, shouting her name. He’s enraged and bewildered—this is why he loves her—this is why she needs him.
“Chloe stop.” Adam catches up to her and grabs her hand, yanking her in his direction. The raindrops conceal her tears, there’s no end to one and a beginning of another—no separation of pain and passion. Possibly the secret to any great romance…passion evolves from pain.
Adam takes Chloe in his arms and forces her against the large maple tree. The fullness of the branches protects them from the rain, but their emotions are completely exposed and unrefined.
Chloe sobs, jerking her hand from his tight grasp. “Leave me alone.”
“No,” he responds.
Adam pins her against the tree, slamming his hands above her shoulders. They stare into each other’s eyes—carnal lust brimming with each sensation, old and new…this is one of those moments. Chloe’s chest rises and falls. Rain splatters against the tree. Adam’s lips quiver with need. Eyes wander over familiar features. Drip drop—it’s rhythm.
And then, associating pain with passion, Chloe bites Adam’s lower lip—sucking and licking the delicate, rain-kissed skin. Adam’s hand moves to her neck, squeezing gently to signify his control. He kisses her, deep and satisfying, absorbing every last drop of painful doubt from her mind. Chloe’s arms move to his shoulders, grasping…searching…
Words are meaningless. Words are breathless.
Adam releases his hold, but not his authority. In a hasty, yet sensual effort, he lifts Chloe into his arms—positioning one arm under her legs and the other tightly around her back.
“Shut up.” He commands with a smile.
And just like Rhett Butler seizing Scarlett O’Hara with passionate fury, Adam reclaims Chloe. Under the pouring rain. Up the steps of the ironed stoop. Through the door of their centuries-old brownstone. Dripping wet. Hearts racing. Souls connecting.

…and then he slams the door.

There’s a new beautiful player in town…

Blake Burns, the sexy head of SIN-TV, who goes through women like some go through water. Until he meets Jennifer McCoy, his outspoken new assistant and development executive.

Newly engaged Jennifer has no idea that her devastating new boss is the man she kissed, blindfolded, in a game of Truth or Dare. That kiss, that man, that beautiful stranger she cannot forget.

Blake hasn’t been able to stop thinking about that kiss either…and he’ll do anything to win Jennifer —even if it means being a beautiful bastard and breaking all the rules.

That Man 1 Excerpt

“Mr. Burns?” A sweet voice at my doorway diverted my attention, and I looked up from the screen. In tandem, my eyes blinked, my body jerked, and my cock flexed. Subtly for her not to notice.

Though her neat auburn bun, prim tweed suit, and tortoiseshell glasses made her look like some bookworm who should be working at a corporate law office, I swear I’d recognize that face anywhere—with its dewy-skin complexion, delicate bone structure, and those expressive, turned-up lips. Someone pinch me. I must be dreaming. But there she was. That girl I’d kissed last night. In fact, her lips were still swollen. Holy fucking shit!

“Hi, I’m Jennifer McCoy.”

It took several long moments for my brain to communicate with my mouth. I cleared my throat and licked my lips. “Please come in and take a seat.”

Unlike last night when she was blindfolded and took short hesitant steps, she strode into my office with a strong confident gait and lowered herself onto one of the two armchairs facing me. She placed her shoulder bag and briefcase on the floor and crossed her shapely, long legs. I had the burning urge to uncross them.

“So, Ms. McCoy—”

“You can call me Jennifer.”

Okay, let’s start over. “So, Jen-ni-fer, you come highly recommended by my boss, Saul Bernstein.” God, I loved saying her name. It sucked the air out of my lungs.

She flashed a small smile. Two little dimples winked at her kissable lips. My cock twitched and I continued.

“However, I’m not sure why someone with a passion for children’s television would want to work for a porn channel.”

Without flinching, she held my gaze steady. “Adults are no different than children. They need to be entertained. ”

That was a fact. And that’s why we referred to our network and programming as “adult entertainment.” I wasn’t done testing her. Or studying her—especially her eyes. Her blindfold had hidden them from me last night, and after she’d disappeared, I kept imagining what they looked like. I thought they might be brown or blue and deep-set.  But they were wide-set and green—the greenest eyes I’d ever seen on a human being. When she blinked, it was if they were two leaves fluttering in the wind. I caught my breath.

“Well, it’s one thing to tell a producer of a cartoon that he—”

“Or she,” she interrupted.

“Or she needs to make the shaggy dog bark louder, but it’s another to tell the producer of a porn flick that his female star who’s being shagged needs to scream louder.”

“Not a problem,” she said flatly.

“Well, then, let’s pretend I’m the producer, and I’m not quite sure what you want. Can you please demonstrate?”

“Sure.” She cleared her throat and then took off her glasses, setting them on my desk. Fuck. Her eyes were beautiful.

My gaze stayed fixed on them as she flung her head back, and a look of torturous pleasure washed over her face. It was identical to the expression on her face last night as I held her head back and fucked her mouth with my tongue. She squeezed her eyes shut.

“Oh, baby, yes! Make me come! Oh God! Oh, yes, Yes, YES!” Each breathy “yes” was louder than the one before, the last one a roar so loud I thought the whole office would hear her. Holy shit. This girl was a fucking tiger. Beneath my desk, my cock was applauding. Was this how Ms. McCoy, M.A., came, or was she just a great actress?  If the latter, this girl should be starring in porn flicks not giving script notes.

“Was that loud and clear enough?” she asked matter-of-factly, staring me in the face. A slight blush colored her cheeks.

I felt heated. Flushed and flustered. And I could feel my cock uncomfortably strain against my fly. Fuck this girl. I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to work with her, but I had no choice.

That Man 2 Excerpt

With a satisfied smirk, he lifted me up against the upholstered wall and growled,  “Now wrap your arms and legs around me.”

He was my boss. Still in my stilettos, I did as he asked. I held my breath as he nudged the crown of his hot cock into my center. We were perfectly lined up. Slowly, he slid it inside me, stretching me, until he filled me to the hilt. My fingernails dug into the fabric of his jacket, and I winced with sweet pain. Holy shit! I thought he was going to split me open.

“Am I hurting you?”

“No,” I said as my muscles relaxed and got used to his size.

“Christ, tiger, you’re so tight and wet. I want to fuck you so badly.” His eyes burned into mine. “I’m going to show you what it’s like to be fucked and by a man who knows how.”

I absorbed his words, absorbed his girth. He was so different from Bradley. So hot, so full, so big. So divine! Gripping my bottom, he began to pound into me. I clung to his biceps and tugged at his hair, unable to suppress my moans. My hips rocked with his.  I knew I should be thinking about the consequences of my actions, but any logical thought at the moment was impossible.

“Do you like this?” he breathed.

“Yes.” Oh yes!

Good girl, bad girl. It no longer mattered. With each forceful thrust, he was pushing me over the edge. Creating exquisite sensations inside me I’d never experienced before. A pressure, so electrifying, so intense I was seeing stars of Bethlehem.

“Do you want to come?”

“Yes. Oh please, yes! Yes, yesYES! I fisted the lapels of his velvet blazer.

He pumped harder, faster, rubbing against my clit with each unrelenting stroke. His breaths came in pants. My own pants gave way to whimpers. I was desperately craving a release.

“Don’t hold back,” he growled between gritted teeth. “I want to hear you roar, tiger. The room is soundproof.”

All it took was a squeeze of my clit. “Come for Santa,” he breathed into my mouth.

With a roar of his name so loud it echoed, I imploded. Tears leaked from my eyes as fierce waves of ecstasy swept through my body. A moment later, he let out his own primal roar. His hot pulsing cock exploded inside me, soaking me with his release, as I shuddered around him.

Through the speakers, “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” piped into the chamber. Spent, Blake rested his glistening sweat-laced forehead against mine as I clung to him. His breathing calmed. I was still shuddering and sobbing softly.

“Merry Christmas, tiger,” Blake whispered in my ear.

“Merry Christmas.”

Christmas had come early.

The steamy and suspenseful conclusion to the bestselling THAT MAN trilogy!

Let’s cut to the chase. A sweet little Midwestern girl with a dimpled smile had shown me there was a connection between my cock and my heart. She was in my bloodstream bringing them together. Making me feel emotions and sensations I’d never felt with anyone.
The Kiss had changed everything. This painting had turned my heart upside down and torn me apart. I could no longer deny my feelings. I missed him for only one reason. I was in love.
Blake and Jennifer finally succumb to their passion and are unable to get enough of one another. A shocking discovery, however, threatens to pull them apart. And danger looms.

Will the two of them survive an outside force that promises to bring their love to a cruel and tragic end ?

AN EXCERPT: Blake is up to his shenanigans, but there’s so much more!

“Blake! What are you doing here?” she gasped as I made my way to her bed after kicking shut the door and locking it.
“What does it look like? I’m getting into bed with you,” I responded, squeezing into her tiny twin bed before she had a chance to notice my hard on. I snuggled next to her. Man, this bed was barely big enough for one person, let alone two.
“You can’t sleep here! What if my parents come in?”
“They won’t, and besides, I’ve locked the door.”
“What if I still say no? Are you going to fuck me into submission?”
My cock flexed and a cocky smile curled on my lips. “That’s Plan B.”
Her eyes widened. “What’s Plan A?”
One of my hands came up from under the cover. In it was a small gift box wrapped in hot pink paper and topped off with a small silver bow. I had kept it hidden behind my back when I’d crept into her room.
“What’s that?”
“It’s just a small Christmas present.”
A combination of guilt and curiosity flickered in her green-as-a-Christmas-tree eyes. “You’re making me feel bad. I don’t have anything else to give you. I mean , I didn’t know—”
I cut her off. “Don’t worry, you’ll be giving me what I wished for on Christmas shortly. Now, open it up.”
“It’s from Gloria’s Secret,” she commented, noticing the famous GS logo on the paper. “Is it some sexy piece of lingerie?”
While that would have been a fine gift too, one I would have bit off her sweet ass, this one was way more creative. And it was going to be way more fun.
“No. Just open it.” She was making my cock twitch with anticipation. I watched as she carefully tore off the wrapping. She stared blankly at the package. “What is this, Blake?”
“It’s a toy. You can’t have Christmas without getting a toy.”
“My Secret Vibrating Egg?”
“It’s a sex toy. You’re going to love playing with it. Open the package.”
She fumbled getting the box opened. I think I already had her aroused.
She lifted the sparkly little pink egg out of the carton and examined it.
“I was almost going to get you a regular vibrator, but then I remembered how much you seemed to enjoy eggs when we had breakfast together at the beach.”
“I do love eggs.” She smiled sheepishly, still studying the toy. “How do you use this?”
My face lit up and my cock stirred. The fun was about to begin.

That Man 3Excerpt

Blake, always full of surprises, had one more in store for me before the New Year dawned. The Jacuzzi. Big enough to accommodate a dozen people, it was built into an expansive deck outside the house.

Our bare bodies buried in the bubbly water, Blake sat close to me. One strapping arm curled around my shoulders while the hand of the other held a lit cigar. The stars and the full moon sparkled overhead in the blackened sky. The steamy water gurgled while Céline Dion piped through hidden speakers, and in the near distance, I could hear the waves of the ocean softly ebb and flow. The intense warm jets of water sprayed my upper back and between my thighs, feeling so tingly good. I was in love, lust, and paradise. It couldn’t get more magical than this.

“Tiger, do you mind if I smoke this cigar?” Blake asked, already blowing out a puff of smoke. “It’s kind of a New Year’s tradition.”

I inhaled. The smell of the tobacco mixing with the salty sea air was heady. To my surprise, I loved it. I took the cigar from him and put it to my mouth. I inhaled and choked.

“No problem,” I coughed out, reaching for my flute of champagne. I took a calming sip.

“Stop showing off,” he laughed, taking the cigar back in his hand. He inhaled another puff and I glared at him. Mesmerized by the way he held the cigar between his long fingers and sucked on the tip, drawing in his cheeks and lowering his eyes. Equally sexy was the way he pursed his kissable lips and blew out the smoke.

“You know, baby. My father once told me a fine cigar is like a fine woman. You have to warm her before you assault her.”

His words made my heart flutter. “Blake, when was the first time you knew you loved me?” I asked as a ring of smoke mingled with the steam from the Jacuzzi.

He placed the cigar on a close by ashtray and turned to face me. His eyes glinted in the moonlight. Damn he was beautiful. And oh so sexy. He twirled my damp ponytail with his hand.

“It could have been love at first sight. When you kissed me blindfolded at my club. Something changed in me. Then after the Springer thing, I knew if something happened to you, I couldn’t live. You’re my air, baby. I need you to breathe.”

A trail of sparks blazed through my body. He loved me right from the beginning. He repeated my question.

Tracing his soft lips, I said, “Vegas. When I danced with you.” Ironically, a Céline Dion version of “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face,” the song we danced to, was piping through the hidden speakers. Maybe he’d intentionally programmed it. I shifted a little and the powerful jet beneath me stimulated my clit.

He tugged at my ponytail. “It took you that long?” His voice was playfully miffed.

I twisted a smile. No, it hadn’t. The truth: I think I’d loved him the minute my mouth set down on his in that game of Truth or Dare too. I’d felt the earth move in my heart. Maybe it was lust. It didn’t matter because I wasn’t going to tell him.

We imbibed some champagne and glanced up at the starry sky. My head rested on his rugged chest.

“Jennifer, do you know why the moon and the stars shine?”

I shook my head. The words of the beautiful song were affecting me. The jets were affecting me.  He was affecting me. Desire was bubbling inside me. “Why?”

Because they’re making love to the sky.”

“Lighting it up,” I replied dreamily, my eyes focused on the many constellations above us.

He drew me closer. Passion sparked in his eyes. “Jennifer McCoy, you are my moon and shining star. My universe.”

In a breath, I was sitting on top of him. Riding him to the heavens. Lighting him up. Lighting myself up.

We came together like comets flaring and whispered, in unison, three celestial words.

“I love you.”

That Man is a well written novel, full of a sexy playboy t.v. network manager.  Blake Burns runs SIN-TV, and his father is the owner of a several stations.  Upon graduation, Jennifer is hired at SIN-TV, and her first task is to see how to improve daytime rating.

Blake is a lover of woman started with the name K.  There are the famous K twins, Kittie Kat (that was my name for her especially), and many other barbie type girls.  But the one Blake wants is taken by a wide-tooth dentist named Bradley.  Blake is on a mission to ruin his competition, but at what cost will it be to Jennifer?

By the time That Man 3 is written there are a few misunderstandings in place.  Blake’s idea of a future with Jennifer is hazy.  When the press gets a few intimate pictures with him and a former K girl of his, Jennifer may be at the end of her rope.  But Blake’s grandma gets in the middle, and maybe the key to his rescue.

I loved the ideas that Jennifer had for the t.v. network to rise.  Wouldn’t we all love to see our favorite books on t.v.?  I also loved how she fit in with Blake’s family.  She just accepted everyone as they were.  Her only fault was her fiancee.  She really wasn’t a good fit for him.  You know they say sometimes opposites attract, but Bradley and Jennifer were not a good march.

That Man 3 is a wonderful written trilogy.  I enjoy watching the remaking of a well noted play into a man one could be proud of.  Jennifer and Blake are one of my favorite book couple’s out there.  That Man Trilogy is one of my favorite series that Nelle has out now.  I highly suggest this series to those whole like sexy scenes, with a complex (but not too much) plot line.

Healing. Revealing. Refreshing. Sizzling. Storming. Breathtaking.  Those are all words that I would use to describe Enthrall Her.  The story regards an awakening of one’s soul, and the healing of a broken heart.

Mia and Cameron start upon a journey of transformation.  Mia’s master has turned her over to Cameron to train her in how to fulfill her master’s needs.  First, she must heal from wounds from the past.  How Cameron completes this task is one that I never have seen a medical professional act upon.  To say his technique is alternative is to put it mildly.  Will it break the chains of Mia’s past, or is she stuck in the hurt forever?  Finding out this question will aid in how well Mia can complete her training as a sub.

I loved Mia’s character.  She was feisty, and fought what norms were pushed at her.  In addition, you could never expect what her behavior would be.  If you thought a person would act a certain way, Mia would do the exact opposite.

Now Richard and Cameron were best friends.  I found them to be polar opposites in how they handled life.   They did have a common denominator, and that was Mia.  But what brings the two men together be the straw to finally separate them?

There is a total 180 in the story that I never expect.  It leaves me pondering how the last book will finish in this entertaining trilogy.  I look forward to reading the final chapter in the story of Mia, Richard, and Cameron.  i truly believe the next book will be explosive.

High Octane: Ignited was a high energy, fast paced novel.  It starts off with a bang, and continues explosively until the end.

The novel starts off where Cassidy Miller is with her father following the Formula 1 drivers around the world.  She has just experienced quite a loss in her life, and has been left crushed in the aftermath.  At one of the tracks, she meets F1 driver Ronan Hawes.  Ronan has his own drama in his life, and he doesn’t want to desire a woman with her own problems.  Attraction to each other doesn’t seem to curb the fact that they want each other.

Now, I am a raving fan.  I was hooked by friends of mine years ago.  When I read High Octane, I loved how realistic the authors wrote about the cars, the engines, and the life of a driver with his/her team.  Add in a distracting sexy female pilot, and you have the making of a 5 star story.  I also love the fact that there is hidden meaning in the story.  To me, a story goes to the next level when there meaning to the matter in the novel.  That is what I felt about High Octane.

I enjoyed the dialogue between the characters.  Everyone in the novel fit in the story line perfectly.  You have a controlling stepfather, a laid back loving father, a daughter in distress, and a driver learning not everyone is after him for his fame and fortune.  I also felt that Cassidy and Ronan were a perfect fit for each other.

The story was truly fast paced, and I would highly suggest readers take a chance on the novel.  Even if you are not a racing fan, I believe you will still truly love reading High Octane: Ignited.

I am looking forward to reading more stories from these two talented writers.
